IAM is a uniquely powerful measuring & monitoring tool that was developed by Dr Karl-Erik Sveiby to address the very challenging issue of building a knowledge focussed balanced scorecard that generates stakeholder value.
Discover and list the most important knowledge based assets available |
Select and rank those assets of greatest significance in that field of operation |
Create an organisational, divisional and/or departmental framework for the key indicators that will steer the strategy to success | |
Generate the necessary buy-in and commitment to use and continually develop the monitor for internal & external structures. |
The participants work in small teams and discuss certain pertinent issues based on the 4 asset groupings below. The facilitator guides the discussions encourages participants to generate and define additional issues & concerns
The generic IAM is usually sufficient, but it can be tailor made to fit particular client issues and the process must be run by an accredited facilitator.
Customisation
The basic workmat, Knowledge Strategy Issues and pre-defined project cards can be customised to:
Highlight known problem areas
Introduce contexts specific to the organisation/industry
Exclude peripheral areas
The basic workmat can be re-printed to include logos, messages and designs specific to the customer as an additional investment.
